چکیده [English]

Given the utmost importance of organizational citizenship behavior, it is essential to consider environmental citizenship behavior for the preservation and survival of the environment. The present study aimed to develop a model to promote environmental citizenship behavior among university personnel. In the present descriptive survey, the statistical population included all employees in the University of Ilam (N=487). Based on the Cochran's formula, a total of 213 participants were randomly selected. The data collection instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire. The reliability of the questionnaire was 0.70, and its validity was evaluated by university professors and experts. The factor structure of the questionnaire was checked by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Descriptive statistics (frequency counts) and inferential statistics (path analysis) were used to analyze the data. The results showed that the relationship between management environmental actions and environmental commitment (path coefficient = 0.65), employees’ environmental commitment and environmental citizenship behavior (path coefficient = 0.96) were confirmed. In addition, the moderating roles of employees’ environmental beliefs and perceptions of organizational support were confirmed with path coefficients of 0.42 and 0.65, respectively. Additionally, the mediating role of environmental commitment was also confirmed with a path coefficient of 0.17. The findings indicated that environmental management actions had a positive relationship with employee’s citizenship behavior through employee’s environmental commitment. Furthermore, employees’ environmental beliefs played a moderating role in the relationship between environmental management actions and employees’ environmental commitment. Further, the perceptions of organizational support moderated the relationship between environmental management actions and employees’ environmental commitment.
