Occupational Health and Safety Risk Management Programs in Spray Paint and Paint Saloon Production Mihan Car Company

Abstract

This study presents an occupational health and safety risk management programs in the paint and
spray paint saloon in Mihan car company.After identifying the activities and processes in the paint
saloon in car production, the amount of pollutants in gaseous CO, NOX, SO2 and H2S at 6 stations,
suspended particles in the exhaust stack of the paint saloon at the four stations and the amount of
sound at 8 stations were measured. Of xylene vapors through pipes Gazyab direct readout method
was studied. The occupational health and safety aspects identified and assessment were with FMEA
method and prioritized number of risk accounting multiplied of three parameters intensity in the
probability event in the range of possible pollution or recycling. The results of this research has shown
that concentrations of air pollutants such as CO and NOX in some of the stations sampled is higher
than standard values. Measured sound levels at sampling stations showed that the sound intensity at
this station is higher than standard. Occupational exposure with workers in paint saloon with fumes
Xelene 186.87 ppm, which is higher than standard level. 22 occupational health and safety risks
identified is in paint saloon which 5 percent were in low-risk, 82% moderate risk level and 13% are
at high risk. The highest risk priority number, 648 is due to furnaces of color to the risk of fire. Results
suggested are for reducing the risk of fire warning system, erecting warning system for increasing the
temperature, use of appropriate boundary protection and standards are necessary.
